Top concerts: 3 great live shows worth checking out in the Bay Area

The powerhouse vocalist kicks off SFJAZZ’s 2023-24 season with four concerts — Sept. 7-10 — at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco. She will be singing tunes from the forthcoming album “Shadows,” which reportedly mixes jazz, blues, R&B, strings and soul, as well as drawing from a wide range of cover material. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7-9 and 7 p.m. Sept. 10. Tickets are $30-$110, sfjazz.org.
